Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct Part 61 flight and ground instruction in the Cessna 150.
- Maintain accurate student training records per FAA regulations and BFA policies.
- Uphold FAA-mandated training standards and Buckeye Flight Academy’s own quality benchmarks.
- Assist with aircraft dispatching and daily operations as needed.
- Keep the office and training aircraft clean, organized, and ready for flight.
- Enter all flight and ground times in FlightCircle.com promptly.
- Act as an ambassador for Buckeye Flight Academy—promote a positive, safety-first culture.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the flight school’s mission.
What We’re Looking For
- Certifications:
- FAA-issued CFI certificate (single-engine).
- Valid FAA Third-Class Medical.
- Experience:
- Minimum 200 hours in a Cessna 150 (required).
- 100 hours of flight instruction provided (preferred).
- Willingness to commit to a minimum two-year engagement with BFA.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Meticulous attention to detail and paperwork.
- Self-motivated—able to work with minimal supervision.
- Creative problem-solver—identifies ways to save time and money.
- Adaptable to shifting priorities and changing flight schedules.
- Reliable and punctual—communicates proactively if appointments must change.

Compensation & Perks
- Tiered Contractor Pay: Starting rate $40/hour, increasing at 250, and 500 hours flown at BFA.
