Course Description: This course is designed to provide the student with the requisite knowledge to pass the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Private Pilot Knowledge Test for single engine airplanes. The test is a 60-question multiple-choice test that is a prerequisite for the Private Pilot License. The course will include information on airplane systems and aerodynamics; the flight environment, meteorology, calculating airplane performance, navigation systems and their use, cross country flight planning, aviation physiology, and decision making.

Course Outcomes: After completing this course students will be able to:

• Demonstrate the proper knowledge of FAA regulations as they apply to Private ACS
• Apply knowledge of weather and aircraft systems
• Gain understanding and familiarity with aircraft systems and the FAA airspace system
• Successful completion of the FAA Airman’s Private Pilot Knowledge Test
